There are now a good amount of rowing websites around, but only one which features rowing history: the website you are reading right now – HTBS. Now and then, we write about more recent events, lately it was the Olympic rowing in Rio, however, we concentrate on the rowing of the past.

HTBS has found its little niche and checking the numbers of readers we have a day, a week, or a month, it seems that a lot of you readers enjoy reading HTBS and keep coming back day in and day out – thank you!

Nevertheless, we are happy to point you in different directions when we find other good articles on the rich history of rowing. One of these articles appeared on Saturday 20 August (though, it had originally appeared on 7 September 2013) in the Torontoist, in the section ‘Historicist’, “The People’s Champion” about Toronto’s old sculling star, the World Champion, Ned Hanlan. The piece was written by Kevin Plummer. Read the article here.
