Göran R Buckhorn writes:

The Olympic rowing event in Rio has been an on-and-off affair with cancelled races every second day. Luckily, today was an ‘on’ day, and of the 26 races that were rowed on the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, six A-Finals were raced. Britain’s Katherine Grainger, with her new partner in the double sculls, Victoria Thornley, led the whole way down the course, but with maybe 100 metres to go, the Polish duo Magdalena Fularczyk-Kozlowska and Natalia Madaj sneaked passed to claim the gold. However, with her silver, Grainger became Britain’s most decorated female Olympian of all time. Congratulations!

The results from today’s races can be found here.
