HOSR Story Hour: Builder of Boats and the Boys: A Pocock Legacy

Time to sign up for the last of the Committee 50 Story Hour for the year.

The zoom event will be honoring boatbuilder George Pocock, whose career and contributions to the sport of rowing helped rowers to reach their protentional. Among those he helped were the now famous 1936 “Boys in the Boat”.

Among the guests for this event, you will find:

Jim Pocock, Jr – Grandnephew of George Pocock (grandson of George’s brother Dick)
Nicole Klein – Coordinator of the Shell House Restoration Project
Steve Chapin – Builder and Restorer of Pocock Racing shells
Al Mackenzie – West Coast historian on Pocock boats and rowing memorabilia
Judy Rantz Willman – daughter of Joe Rantz, 7 seat in the 1936 Husky crew who won the gold medal in the eights in Berlin

Builder of Boats and the Boys: A Pocock Legacy

Story Hour, which is free, will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, 6 December at 7 pm.  

All are welcome to join the conversation!
