I.
Eyes of fire fall and die
down the dark sky,
die with no more than a sigh,
but a sigh of deep regret
sight has been taken from them
by the air blinding their flames,
and blowing them out.
II.
Embers fall dying
onto the cold hearth of earth,
and sleep dreaming
of how once they dazzled
the depths of darkness,
dreaming that keeps
each spark embering,
to rise, again, come
the night democracy
is conceived anew.
