Me? I couldn’t tell you.
It seems to be just a matter
of climbing into a shell
and setting oars in motion.
I think one is born
to the desire to row.
It is a way of expressing
one’s self, one’s body.
It is a marriage
of desire and body.
I mean, why else,
other than for the sheer
pleasure found in the act
Then, too, there is
no need to explain.
One need simply
row.
